HeatwaveAlert: Scorching Sun Hits Telugu States by 10 AM!

Across various states in India, the sun is turning up the heat early, especially noticeable in the Telugu states where by 10 AM, temperatures are already soaring. With temperatures recorded above 42 degrees Celsius in some areas, people are apprehensive about stepping outside. The Meteorological Department warns that the temperatures might rise even further over the next two days, and wind gusts could intensify the discomfort.

Health experts are advising caution, suggesting that people stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. If one must venture out in this severe heat, symptoms like dizziness and vomiting could indicate heatstroke, a potentially dangerous condition. Simple precautions like wearing a hat or covering one’s head with a scarf, and opting for light-colored cotton clothes can make a big difference. Upon returning home, it's recommended to drink cool water, lemonade, or coconut water to rehydrate. If someone does suffer from heatstroke, moving them to a cooler environment and seeking medical help at the nearest primary health center is crucial. Rehydrating solutions such as ORS, homemade lassi, lemon water, and buttermilk are essential to restore hydration and avoid severe health issues.
