Gujarat Titans Defeated Mumbai Indians By 6 Runs In Ahmedabad

Mumbai Indians, one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League, once again disappointed in the opening match of the season. Mumbai last beat CSK in their first match in 2012. After that, Mumbai did not win even once in the opening match of the season. The latest 2024 season also started with a defeat. Gujarat lost the match against Titans by 6 runs. Batting first in this match, the Gujarat Titans scored 168 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. After that Mumbai came into the ring with a target of 169 runs and got a shock from the very beginning. Opener Ishan Kishan ducked out. But former captain Rohit Sharma (43) and Dewald Brevis (46) excelled and Mumbai went towards victory. At the end of 14 overs, the team still needed 48 runs to win. With the presence of Tilak Verma and Brevis at the crease, hitters like Tim David and Hardik Pandya had to come to bat, everyone thought that Mumbai's victory was certain. It was at this stage that the Gujarat Titans team recovered strongly. 5 runs in the 15th over, 4, 3, 9 and 8 runs in the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th overs respectively. Mumbai needed 19 runs in the last over to win. In that over bowled by Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, who hit the first ball for a six and the second ball for a four, raised hopes in the Mumbai camp. But then Mumbai's story ended as Pandya got out on the ball itself. Finally, the team scored 162 runs in 20 overs and lost by 6 runs.
