Renowned lyricist Kanukuntla Subhash Chandrabose, widely known as Chandrabose, has once again demonstrated his noble character by honoring a promise he made to his hometown. Chandrabose, who has left an indelible mark on the Telugu film industry with his poetic prowess, received an Oscar for the song "Naatu Naatu" from the movie RRR. During this momentous occasion, the residents of his native village, Challagarige in Chityala Mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, honored him with great love and affection.

Promise Fulfilled:

  • Oscar Library: Moved by the overwhelming love from his villagers, Chandrabose promised to establish an Oscar Library in his village. True to his word, he has built a new library worth ₹36 lakhs, replacing the old one.

  • Grand Inauguration: The Oscar Library is set to be inaugurated on Thursday, July 4th, by Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy and Chandrabose.

  • Modern Facilities: The two-story library is equipped with all modern amenities.

  • Resourceful Collection: It will house a wide range of books necessary for students preparing for competitive exams.

  • Personal Sentiments: Chandrabose shared his happiness, stating, "I built this library as promised to the villagers of Challagarige. It feels wonderful. I grew up reading numerous literary books in the old library next to my house, which significantly contributed to my success."

Chandrabose's Contributions:

  • Industry Service: Chandrabose has been serving the Telugu film industry for nearly 30 years.

  • Impressive Record: He has penned lyrics for approximately 3,600 songs across 860 films.

  • Accolades: Apart from the Oscar for "Naatu Naatu," he also received the National Award for Best Lyricist for the song "Dham Dham Dham" from the movie Kondapolam.
