AP Cabinet Reshuffle Ministerial Race Heats Up in TDP

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet reshuffle is causing quite a stir! Many leaders from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are vying for ministerial positions. Both senior and junior leaders are intensifying their efforts. The TDP leadership is looking to balance regional and social equations while selecting ministers. With the possibility of BJP and Jana Sena joining the cabinet, the tension among leaders is mounting.

The competition for ministerial posts in the new government is fierce. The extraordinary victory in the recent elections, with some leaders winning by huge margins, has raised hopes for ministerial positions. Leaders who secured record victories in traditionally non-TDP seats are pressuring the leadership for cabinet berths. They are trying to communicate their aspirations to party chief Chandrababu Naidu through senior party members. The cabinet can accommodate a maximum of 25 members.

Considering the former district divisions, small districts like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Kadapa, and Nellore may get one or two ministerial slots each. Meanwhile, districts like Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, and the three Rayalaseema districts might see up to three leaders becoming ministers. However, in each district from Srikakulam to Chittoor, four to five leaders are competing for ministerial positions.

From Srikakulam district, Koon Ravi Kumar of the Kalinga community and Itchapuram MLA Bendalam Ashok are hoping for ministerial posts. Along with them, key leader Achchennaidu might also get a chance. However, since Achchennaidu’s brother Ram Mohan Naidu is already a Union Minister, there are doubts about Achchennaidu getting a ministerial position due to potential criticism of giving ministerial posts to two members from the same family. If Achchennaidu doesn’t get a position, it remains to be seen whether another leader from his community will be considered.
