5G users in India use data extensively. Telecom gear maker Nokia has stated in its report that 4G users use 3.6 times more data simultaneously. Companies are constantly introducing new features to serve telecom users. As part of that, it is known that 5G services will be available in October 2022. According to the report, 5G will account for 15 percent of the total data traffic in 2023. Compared to the number of 4G devices, 5G mobiles are used by 17 percent. That means their share is 13.4 crores out of 79.6 crores. Data usage in India is 17.4 exabytes per month, a growth of 20% over last year. 1 exabyte equals 100 million GB. On average, each user uses 24 GB per month. That means data usage is very high in India. This is 20 percent of the total mobile data traffic.
