Prabhas's much-awaited film, Kalki 2898 AD, is set to release on June 27. With the release of glimpses, trailers, and songs, expectations for the movie are sky-high. Recently, a special making video was released where director Nag Ashwin shared insights about what to expect from Kalki 2898 AD and why he made this film. The video also showcases some stunning visuals from the making of the movie.
Nag Ashwin's Vision 🎥
In the video, Nag Ashwin explains that the story of Kalki 2898 AD serves as a climax to everything. It depicts how events will unfold in the Kali Yuga, not just in India but globally. He shares his love for mythological movies since childhood, such as Pathala Bhairavi, Bhairava Dweepam, and Aditya 369. Inspired by Hollywood films like Star Wars, he wanted to bring similar grand stories to Indian cinema. Ashwin wrote this story imagining what happens after the last avatar of Krishna from our epics, considering how the end of the Kali Yuga would look like. This took him five years to conceptualize and write, resulting in a sci-fi mythology film.
Intriguing Concept 🌌
Ashwin reveals that Kalki is a character that exists in every era in different forms. The movie explores what form Kalki takes in the Kali Yuga and how his journey concludes. The making video is titled "Episode 1," hinting at more videos to come that will provide further insights and visuals from the making of the movie.
Connection to Mahabharata 🕉️
Previously, Ashwin mentioned how Kalki 2898 AD ties into the Mahabharata, starting after the epic war and concluding at the end of the Kali Yuga. This connection has heightened the anticipation surrounding the movie.
