What should be offered in Maha Shivratri Puja?
Abhishekam and Rudrabhishekam on the day of Maha Shivratri become special. If you fast and stay awake all night, you will get the blessings of Lord Shiva. Devotees immerse themselves in the name of Shiva by performing Shiva puja every four hours. During the first puja, a mixture of milk, Ganga water, saffron, honey and water should be offered to Shivalinga.
A worship performed once in four hours on Shivaratri gives special results. Doing this pooja will remove all your troubles. Puja should be done with concentration. Water should be offered to Shivalinga during the first puja. Yoghurt can be anointed while worshiping the second jam, ghee while worshiping the third jam and water on the fourth jam. Sandalwood should be applied and Bhasma should be offered.
