Tragic Fire in Kuwait Kills 49, Including 43 Indians 🔥

A devastating fire broke out in an apartment building in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, resulting in the tragic death of 49 people, including 43 Indians. Among the deceased, 21 were from Kerala, with others hailing from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The remaining victims included nationals from Pakistan, the Philippines, Egypt, and Nepal. The building housed a large number of families from Kerala, and it was owned by NBTC Group head K.G. Abraham, who is also from Kerala.

The fire started at around 4:30 AM on Wednesday in the labor camp kitchen inside the building. Some people managed to escape by jumping from the building, but the fire spread rapidly, trapping and killing dozens inside. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Many are in critical condition, with reports indicating that over 40 people have been injured, the majority of them being Indians.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed his deep shock and grief over the incident on Twitter. He mentioned that the Indian Ambassador in Kuwait has reached the site of the incident and that the embassy is providing all possible assistance to those affected.
