🚗 Toll Charges Increased NHAI Hikes Fees by 5%

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased toll charges across the country by an average of 5%. Typically, these hikes are implemented on April 1 each year. However, due to the Lok Sabha elections, this year’s hike was temporarily postponed. With the elections now concluded, the NHAI has been given the green light to implement the new toll rates. 🛣️

Key toll plazas on the busy Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway, such as Pantangi, Korlaphad, and Chillakallu, have updated their fees. Here’s a breakdown of the new charges:

  • Cars, Jeeps, Vans: ₹5 increase for a one-way trip, ₹10 for a round trip.

  • Buses, Trucks: ₹25 increase for a one-way trip, ₹35 for a round trip.

  • Heavy Goods Vehicles: ₹35 increase for a one-way trip, ₹50 for a round trip.

A 25% discount is available for return trips made within 24 hours for all vehicle types. Monthly passes for locals have also been increased from ₹330 to ₹340. These new rates will be in effect until March 31, 2025. 🚗

Currently, there are approximately 855 toll plazas on national highways across India. The NHAI increases toll charges annually to fund road repairs and maintenance. For those traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, cars, vans, and light motor vehicles will now pay ₹335 one-way and ₹500 for a round trip, covering the Pantangi, Korlaphad, and Chillakallu toll plazas. 🌐
