Recently, the NDA coalition came into power after the elections for the 543 Lok Sabha seats. Ever wondered what salary and benefits an elected Member of Parliament (MP) gets from the government? Here’s a breakdown:

Salary and Allowances:

  1. Monthly Salary: ₹1 lakh

  2. Constituency Allowance: ₹70,000 per month

  3. Office Expenses: ₹60,000 per month

  4. Daily Allowance (DA): ₹2,000 per day for attending Parliament sessions

  5. Free Air Travel: 34 free trips per year anywhere in India, along with their spouse

  6. First-Class Train Travel: For personal and official purposes

  7. Travel Allowance (TA): Claimable while touring their constituency

  8. Free Accommodation: Until their term ends, or ₹2 lakhs per month for housing

  9. Free Medical Facilities: For the MP and their family

  10. Pension: ₹25,000 per month after their term, with an annual increment of ₹2,000 for each additional term served

  11. Free Phone Calls: 1.5 lakh free calls annually

  12. High-Speed Internet and Electricity: Up to 50,000 units of electricity per year
