Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially filed his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha constituency in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Before submitting his nomination, Modi partook in a series of religious activities. His day began at the revered Kaal Bhairav temple, followed by rituals at the Dashashwamedh Ghat along the Ganges. From there, he proceeded to Namo Ghat, and then returned to the Kaal Bhairav temple before heading to the collectorate office to register his candidacy.

The nomination event was marked by extensive preparations from the BJP, with prominent party leaders including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, as well as other ministers and chief ministers from NDA-ruled states attending. Opposition leaders such as Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan from Andhra Pradesh were also present.

On the eve of his nomination, Modi led a grand 5-kilometer roadshow in Varanasi, which he described as an unforgettable event in his life. This show of strength highlights his deep connections with the cultural and spiritual ethos of Varanasi, aiming to resonate with the city's constituents as well as his broader base across the country.
