LS Polls In Telangana, 90 Lakh Young Voters To Play Key Role🗳️

Around 90 lakh young voters in Telangana between the ages of 18 and 35 will play a vital role in deciding the fate of political parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Major parties like Congress, BJP and BRS parties are trying to impress the young voters. In Telangana, there are about 9 lakh voters in the age group of 18-19 years and about 81 lakh voters in the age group of 19-35 years. In the last 100 days, Congress has gained the support of young voters. Group-1 and Mega DSC have issued notifications to fill thousands of vacancies and promised to issue notifications for another 50,000 vacancies as soon as the Election Code expires in June.

There was a lot of anger among the youth against the previous BRS government which failed to undertake recruitment drives as promised during the 2014 and 2018 assembly elections. In addition to this, the leak of question papers of TSPSC Group-1 and other recruitment exams in 2022 and the cancellation of the exams further fueled the anger against BRS. In the recently held assembly elections, the youth played a vital role in ousting the BRS government and bringing the Congress to power in Telangana.

The Congress gained the support of young voters with promises like filling up two lakh vacancies in government departments within a year of coming to power, releasing an annual job calendar from 2025 on the lines of UPSC, and purging the TSPSC board. The BJP also promised in its manifesto to fill all the vacant posts in the central government and to fill up a total of 30 lakh vacancies. Congress has proposed to allocate a corpus of Rs. 5,000 crore to start-ups under the 'Yuvaroshini' programme. BRS party in Telangana is also making efforts to attract young voters. Focusing on job calendar and other unemployment issues, the Congress is putting pressure on the government. Major parties are attracting youth as there are opportunities for young voters to play a key role in this election.🗳️✨
