In a dramatic turn of events in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu brought laughter and surprise to the house. He alleged that the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government had unfairly filed cases against opposition leaders. To make his point, Chandrababu Naidu asked all MLAs with cases against them to stand up. This bold move led to a humorous moment as Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Education Minister Nara Lokesh, and a majority of the MLAs stood up, causing the entire assembly to burst into laughter. Chandrababu criticized the YSRCP for using the police to file cases against those who politically opposed them. He claimed that despite these efforts, the people voted them into the assembly.
Chandrababu revealed that 17 cases had been filed against him during the YSRCP regime, compared to only one case in his entire political career before that. He also mentioned that seven cases were filed against Pawan Kalyan and an astonishing 60 cases against TDP leader and Tadipatri Municipal Chairman JC Prabhakar Reddy. Cases were also filed against other leaders like Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar and Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani. Chandrababu accused the YSRCP of making a mockery of democracy and using the police as a weapon for political vendetta.
