Betting Tragedy in Andhra Pradesh: Man Takes His Own Life Over Election Bet 💔

In a tragic incident in Andhra Pradesh, a man named Venu Gopal Reddy from Eluru district’s Nuzividu mandal ended his life after losing a bet on the state elections. Reddy, who was a ward member and the husband of the village sarpanch, had placed a massive ₹30 crore bet on the YSRCP's victory.

Full Story: Venu Gopal Reddy, a supporter of the YSRCP, bet ₹30 crores with several people from different villages, confident in his party's victory. However, when the results came in, and YSRCP faced a significant defeat, Reddy couldn't bear the loss. He left his village on the counting day and did not return home, avoiding calls from those he had bet with.

On June 7th, the people he owed money to broke into his house and took away air conditioners, sofas, and beds as compensation. The next day, Reddy returned to find his belongings gone and, overcome with distress, drank pesticide in his field, resulting in his death.

Police found a note near his body, accusing a person from Namavaram in Chintalapudi mandal of being responsible for his death. Reddy's wife has filed a complaint with the police, and investigations are ongoing.
