#APMidnightPolling: Polling Extends to 2 AM in Andhra Pradesh, EC Estimates High Turnout


In an unprecedented move, polling in Andhra Pradesh continued until 2 AM, as announced by the State Election Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Meena. The prolonged hours are expected to surpass the previous election's turnout of 79.2%. At a press conference held at the state secretariat in Vijayawada, it was revealed that including 0.6% of postal ballots, the turnout has reached an estimated 79.8%. By midnight, the turnout was about 78.25%, with postal voting expected to increase the final tally to 79.4%. The commission set up new EVMs at around 20 centers to accommodate voters still in line after midnight. The final turnout details, anticipated to reach up to 81%, will be confirmed by the evening.
