The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made it clear that devotees who visit the Tirumala temple and have darshan will be provided with adequate laddus. TTD Executive Officer (EO) Shyama Rao stated that all devotees who come for darshan will receive one free laddu and can purchase additional laddus for ₹50 each. The aim is to ensure that all devotees have access to sufficient prasadam. 🙏
However, for those who wish to directly visit the laddu counters without having darshan, TTD has introduced a new rule: they must show their Aadhaar card to receive two laddus per day. The TTD sells around 3.5 lakh laddus daily, out of which 2.5 lakh are distributed to devotees who have had darshan. The remaining 1 lakh laddus are being bought by people without darshan tokens. 🎟️
An internal investigation by TTD revealed that some brokers are purchasing large quantities of laddus and reselling them at higher prices in other regions. It has also come to TTD's notice that these laddus are being distributed in bulk during weddings and other events in various towns. 🕵️♂️
TTD has taken steps to sell Srivari laddu prasadam at its subsidiary temples and information centers to curb this illegal activity. Efforts are being made to provide laddus to devotees in different regions to prevent them from falling into the hands of these brokers. This initiative will make it easier for devotees to access the prasadam without being cheated. 🛡️
The TTD's investigation has also found that some employees at the laddu counters were involved in selling large quantities of laddus. The current system, supported by TTD's IT department, records the distribution of laddus through Aadhaar registration. This system has been implemented for the past three days to track who is receiving the laddus and how many each devotee is taking after darshan. Therefore, TTD urges devotees not to believe in any rumors regarding the sale of laddus and to follow the official guidelines. 📢
